Today was the first day of the ELA exam. This year all students took the exam on chromebooks. Two things I need everyone to understand. Number one, the NYS Exam protocols require that no student be in possession of their phone during the exam. This is not a new thing. Number 2: We collected all students phones today because we cannot have students using their phone and putting a strain on the school’s bandwidth, which is the wi-fi signal. All phones will be returned during 8th period today. This is not unreasonable and it is my expectation that everyone complies with this procedure. Just because the test is finished does not mean students can get there phone returned. Teachers and staff need to go to lunch as well. Chromebooks need to be checked and charged. All of these things must be done. Tomorrow is the second day of the ELA exam and the procedure will be the same. All students will have their phones returned today 8th period.
